The Marmeleira Group and the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) signed two cooperation agreements focused on the development of green agriculture and cultural exchange between China and Portugal, as well as academic exchange in the Greater Bay Area. The agreements were signed by Lao Chao Peng and Carmen Wu, executives from Quinta da Marmeleira, along with representatives from USJ. Also present were the Secretary of State for the Communities, José Cesário, and the president of the Federation of Industry and Commerce of Macau, Ho Jinglin.
The first agreement aims to promote sustainable agriculture and cultural exchange, while the second focuses on academic exchange and cooperation on international matters. Three internships will be held annually, with 30 to 35 spots available for students at Quinta da Marmeleira, where they will learn about winemaking and sustainable agricultural practices. Lao Chao Peng emphasized the intention to leverage Macau’s strategic position to provide enriching experiences for students, including internships in Portugal.
