The Portuguese Institute of the Orient (IPOR) and Quinta da Marmeleira held a ceremony at the IPOR headquarters to honor Wu Zhiwei, CEO of the Marmeleira Group and an associate of the institution. One of the rooms at the Portuguese Language Center was named “Quinta da Marmeleira Room” in his honor. “Wu Zhiwei was one of the most dedicated personalities in promoting bilateral relations between Portugal and China,” IPOR stated, noting that he was also vice-president of the Portuguese-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “This gesture from IPOR aims to recognize and thank all the support given by Wu Zhiwei to the institution.” The unveiling ceremony of the plaque was attended by the entrepreneur’s daughters, wife, family members, friends, and other guests. Wu Zhiwei passed away in January at the age of 57.
